Aaron Robinson , 90, passed away peacefully in the home he had shared with his recently departed wife, Patricia Mae Robinson in Kansas City, Missouri on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

He was born May 25, 1933, to the union of Marianna Lee and J. B. Robinson in a small town named Marvell, Arkansas in Phillips County that straddled the Mississippi River.

At an early age, Aaron accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and gave his life to Christ.

As an adult, he was affiliated with Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ along with his wife and son, Rev. Kevin L. Nelson.  Prior to his marriage to Patricia, he fathered his beloved only daughter, Rita Robinson.

Aaron's rural Southern upbringing served him well among tenant farmers in a community of about 850 people where whites outnumbered Blacks 2:1. He learned how to garden, care for livestock, cook and provide childcare for his siblings at an early age while his parents worked. He continued to garden his entire life.  Anyone who tasted his delicious fresh collard greens or  fried or smoked turkey experienced a little taste of Heaven.  He also enjoyed maintaining his backyard garden, watching military documentaries and daytime TV, and feeding two neighborhood cats during his retirement.

Prior to assuming a relaxed retirement lifestyle, he had an active life of service.  He was a proud Korean War veteran for his honorable service in the U. S. Army as a Private First Class soldier.   Aaron worked at the MoKan Chemical Company for over 30 years.  He was known as the neighborhood "The Fix it Man". This gig led to him repairing the air conditioner of his future wife, Pat.  They were later married by Pastor Abel at PMBCJC on 34th & Askew witnessed by her dearest family and friends on August 3, 1991.  Aaron and Pat enjoyed a loving and enduring marriage of nearly 32 years until her passing five months ago.

Aaron gave and received much love in his lifetime. He will be sorely missed. Aaron Robinson was preceded in death by his beloved parents and wife.  He leaves to cherish his memory: brother, Darnell Robinson, sister, Willie Island, son, Revs. Kevin L. (Dana) Nelson of Olathe, KS, daughter, Rita Robinson of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Candance Robinson and Jalin (Dashawna) Robinson of Kansas City, MO, 2ND LT Joshua Nelson (US Army) 46th Engineer Battalion of Fort Polk, LA & Jacob Nelson and Gabrielle Evans of Olathe; and great grandchildren Jada, Jayla and Jalin Robinson, Jr. and extended family and friends in Greater Kansas City.
