With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Adriana Cecilia Medina Vega , who departed this life on July 18, 2025, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 49.

Adriana was born on April 22, 1976, in Matamoros, Coahuila, Mexico, to Ismael Medina de la Parra and Yolanda Vega Lopez. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, partner, and friend whose warmth and strength touched every life she encountered.

Adriana is survived by her four loving children: Darlene Guadalupe Salazar Medina, Edwin Manuel Juarez Medina, Jose Alberto Esparza Medina, and Brandon Adrian Esparza Medina; as well as her cherished partner, Emmanuel Ortiz.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to three beautiful grandchildren. Adriana also leaves behind her siblings Claudia Samantha Medina Vega, Blanca Yedith Medina Vega, and Ismael Medina Vega, along with a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will deeply miss her presence.

Adriana was preceded in death by her father, Ismael Medina de la Parra; whose memory she carried with her always.

She worked at Guadalupe Centers as a food server for schools, where she served not only meals but also kindness and encouragement to children every day. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her own family — she had a deep concern for the well-being of others and was known for her compassion, loyalty, and willingness to help anyone in need.

Adriana was a woman who valued peace, truth, and family above all else. She was protective, honest, and a trusted confidant — someone you could always count on. Her words carried weight, and her smile could brighten even the darkest day. She often said, "Si Dios quiere" ("If God lets us") — a phrase that reflected her deep faith and belief in leaving things in God's hands.

She found joy in life's simplest moments — especially taking her youngest son and grandchildren to the movies or the park, creating precious memories full of laughter and love. Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught: to be compassionate, to care for others, to pray for the most vulnerable, and to love deeply and generously.

Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. Adriana Cecilia Medina Vega will never be forgotten — only remembered with love, tears, and the profound gratitude of all who were lucky to know her.
