Alfreda Lee Bonwell was born February 11, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, one of thirteen children born to the union of Ernest S. Bonwell, Sr. and Mattie L.  Green Bonwell.

She departed this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Sonny, Clara, Ernest, Cecilia, the twins and Anita, a great-grandson, Mekhi Parris and a special brother-in-law, Maurice Dydell, Sr.

Alfreda accepted Christ at a very early age at Oak Grove Baptist Church.  She loved the Lord with all her heart.

She resided in Kansas City all of her life.  She attended Central High School.  Alfreda worked in the Home Health field for many years and retired from Holiday Inn.  She was known as "Big Momma" and "Maw Maw" to all who loved her.  She loved all who crossed her path and they knew it.  She had a very loving, caring and giving spirit.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her two daughters, Marla Bonwell and Monica Bonwell-Collins (Jon); brothers, Larry Bonwell, Sr. (Janelle), Alfred Bonwell "Twin" (Joyce), Cecil Bonwell, Sr. (Gerry), Nathan Bonwell, Sr. (Ella and Thomas Bonwell, Sr. (Roz); sister, Mattie Paul (Richard); grandchildren, Marlon Parris, Marshell Parris, Michael Rhodes, Mariah Stubbs (Shon), Samone Collins and Montenae Bonwell; great-grandkids, Makell Parris, Alauna Stubbs, Aubrey Stubbs and Malik Rhodes and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.

Services for Ms. Bonwell will be held 5:00 P.M. Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church.  Friends May call from 3:00 P.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
