Allen George Brown , affectionately known as "AB," was a man of faith, family, and service who touched countless lives through his warmth, generosity, and steadfast commitment to his community. Born on July 28, 1963, in Omaha, Nebraska, Allen was the beloved son of Marland L. Brown and Alice Ruth Brown (White).

Allen grew up as a military child, experiencing diverse communities and cultures that would shape his inclusive spirit. After his family's travels, he found his permanent home in Kansas City, Missouri, where he would build a remarkable legacy of love, leadership, and lasting impact.

Education & Career
Allen attended Harmon High School in Kansas City, Kansas, and earned an Associate's Degree in Business Administration at William Jewell Community College. In 1982, he began his professional journey at Honeywell, starting in the mail department with determination and a willingness to learn. Over 34 years, his dedication and natural leadership propelled him to Senior Master Scheduler. His colleagues respected his expertise, reliability, and the positive atmosphere he created. Allen's excellence was recognized in 2016 when he received the Black Achievers Award, reflecting his commitment to excellence and mentorship of younger professionals.

When a stroke in 2016 changed his career trajectory, Allen transitioned to working from home with characteristic grace. He retired from Honeywell in 2020, concluding a distinguished career that left an indelible mark on the organization and colleagues whose lives he enriched.

Faith & Legacy
Allen discovered his calling to Jesus Christ in his early twenties during a basketball game, an encounter that transformed his life. For many years, he served as an Elder at New Life in Christ International Ministries, providing dedicated leadership to the Men's Ministry (Pillars of Power) and founding the Men's Prayer Breakfast, a ministry that continues today.

Allen was a natural storyteller whose infectious laughter could light up any room. He had a gift for making people feel comfortable and valued. His home was always open, and his table was always set, especially for those who might not have an invitation elsewhere. He lived out the Matthew 25 principle of hospitality, creating spaces where everyone felt genuinely welcomed and loved.

His administrative gifts were freely given to his church and community. Allen organized countless events with precision and care, ensuring every detail created meaningful experiences. Whether planning church functions, coordinating community gatherings, or hosting friends in his home, his organizational excellence brought people together.

Allen George Brown lived a life of purpose, faith, and love that exemplified faithful service. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the interns who remember his mentorship, the Men's Prayer Breakfast that still gathers, and the countless lives he touched with his laughter, wisdom, and open heart. Though he has gone to his eternal home, the impact of his life continues to ripple through the community he loved, a lasting testament to a life well lived in service to God and others.

Family
Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Marland L. Brown and Alice Ruth Brown; and siblings, Teresa Bynum (Leroy Bynum) and Roxanne Brown.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Cheryl D. Brown, who stood beside him through every season of life. His children were his pride and joy, daughters, Reinyae Hutcheson, Alice Shumate, and Jasmine Kim; and his son, Allen "Micah" Brown. He embraced his sons-in-love, Jamaal Shumate and Andrew Kim, as his own sons, and delighted in his role as grandfather to Jaslynn Shumate and Josiah Allen Shumate. Allen treasured his siblings and the bonds they shared. He is also survived by Verna Myers (Terry Myers), Vicky Terry (Gill Terry), Romana Wells, Stacy Brown, and Michelle Brown-Penn (Antwon Penn), along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who became family.
