Alma Lou “Sue Gail” Warren, 74, was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi. She departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, care, determination, and countless memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

From an early age, Alma dreamed of becoming a pharmacist. She had a deep desire to learn, gain knowledge, and make a difference in the lives of others. Although her path ultimately led her in a different direction, her passion for helping people eventually led her to a career in nursing, where she had the opportunity to care for and make a difference in the lives of many.

Alma also spent much of her life caring for children. She gave them her time, attention, patience, guidance, and love. Caring for others was more than something she did; it was a meaningful part of who she was. She had a heart for helping people and found purpose in being there for those who needed her.

Alma was a woman who took learning seriously. She was curious, thoughtful, and always interested in gaining knowledge. She enjoyed learning new things and believed in the importance of education and understanding. Her determination and desire to learn were qualities that stayed with her throughout her life.

Outside of her work and caring for others, Alma enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. She loved fishing, working on puzzles, knitting, and playing bingo. She was also a proud Kansas City Chiefs fan and enjoyed watching football. Alma also had a special love for her cats and kittens, who brought her companionship, comfort, and joy. They were another part of the life she lovingly cared for.

Alma was a woman with a strong spirit and a caring heart. She loved her family deeply and created a presence where the people around her could feel cared for. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, and her life was defined by the love she gave to others.

Alma leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her daughters, Joann Warren, Tanya Warren, Linda Norwood, April Johnson, and Angela Brown, whom she raised and loved as her own; and her beloved adopted granddaughter, Amia Warren, whom she also raised as her own and loved dearly.

She also leaves behind her sisters, Louella Johnson, Betty Price, Sally Johnson, Barbara (Raymond) Jennings, Katie Phifer, and Tressia Johnson; and her brothers, Will Roy Johnson and Willie (Betty) Johnson.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and her beloved cats and kittens.

To her family, Alma was more than a mother, grandmother, sister, or loved one. She was part of the foundation of their family. Her love, guidance, strength, and the memories she created will remain with them for generations. The laughter, conversations, family gatherings, and everyday moments shared with her are now precious memories that will forever be carried in their hearts.

Alma was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Louise Seals; her father, Johnny Lee Warren; her only son, Al Warren; her beloved companion and the man she shared her life with, Martin Johnson; her brothers, Johnny Johnson, Randy (Dorothy) Johnson, Robert Johnson, Marzell Davis, Melvin Armstrong, and Luther (Barbara) Davis; and her sister, LeeAnn Johnson.

Alma’s life was filled with caring for others, learning, laughter, family, and the things she loved. She dreamed of one path, found purpose in another, and spent her life making a difference in the lives of others through the care she gave.

She was a woman who loved deeply and gave of herself to the people who mattered most to her. She opened her heart and home to those she cared for, including the children she raised and nurtured as her own. Her love was not defined only by titles or blood, but by the lives she touched and the people she chose to care for.

Though her family mourns her passing, there is comfort in knowing that Alma has now returned home to her only son, “Al Warren who preceded her in death”.

Her journey may have come to an end, but the love she gave did not. It lives on in her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

Her family will carry her with them in the things she taught them, in the traditions she shared, in the stories they tell, and in the love that will continue from one generation to the next.
