Anthony Wilson Awbrey was born September 14, 1963, to Willie and Rosie Awbrey.  He was the youngest child of three from this union. He was affectionately called "Tony."

Tony accepted Christ at an early age. He was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  After receiving his secondary education Tony moved to Louisiana until he returned to Kansas City in 2010.  He was employed with the Kansas City School District until his illness.

Tony was the "One Cool Dude " to his friends and family.  He was known to fry the best chicken and fish.  He loved music and sports, especially basketball, football, tennis and fishing.  His favorite football team was The San Francisco 49ers and his favorite basketball team was the Golden State Warriors.  His favorite saying was one word: "ALREADY."

Tony leaves to cherish his memory: Fiancé, Rhonda McCallop Fletcher; father, Willie Awbrey; mother, Rosie Jackson (Dennis); daughters, Latasha Porter Nickerson, Annette Allen and Nora Williams; two sisters, Debra Awbrey and Marva Moses; three brothers, Reginald Murphy (Robin), Marcus Moses (Althea) and Dennis Brown (Cynthia) along with loveable grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, additional relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Awbrey will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 3, 2019, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
