Artie Grant Williams, Jr. was born May 26, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Artie Grant Williams, Sr. and Helen Louise Williams.  He was the second child born of five children.  He is preceded in death by both parents, wife Linda Williams, Brother Hayden Williams, Sister Pamela Williams, and Granddaughter Myeshia L. Pruett.

Artie attended the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  After school, he was employed by the J.C. Nichols Real Estate Company.  He worked until retirement.

Artie married his first wife, Barbara Ann Williams on February 24, 1959.  There were two children born to this union, Gene Raymond Williams and Shirl Denise Robinson.  He, later, met Beverly Ardella Pruett who preceded him in death.  To this union, three children were born, Tina Louise Briggs, Michael Lee Pruett, and Dwayne Grant Pruett.

Artie , later, married Theresa Williams, his second wife which ended in divorce.

Artie met Linda Williams and was married to her until her death.

Artie loved fishing and going to church.  He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church.  He attended faithfully until his health failed.

Artie entered into eternity on Monday, May 9, 2022.

Artie leaves to cherish his memories: Three sons Gene R. Williams (Lawanda), Michael L. Pruett, Dwayne G. Pruett; Two daughters: Shirl D. Robinson (Donald), Tina L. Briggs; two sisters Alyce Stanley and Marilyn Wilson (James); one aunt: Barbara J. Stewart; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.

Services for Mr. Williams will be held at 11:00AM, Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 9:00AM until service time at the chapel.
