Barbara "Bobby" Davis was born on March 27, 1937, in Warren, Arkansas, to Calantha Neeley and Robert Elliott.

She later moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she completed her high school education. It was there she met the love of her life, Saul Davis. The two married and were blessed with six children.

Determined to build a meaningful career, Barbara pursued Nursing at Central Missouri State University. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credentials and later became a proud Registered Nurse. Throughout her career, she served at Baptist Medical Center and Saint Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, as well as providing private duty care for several families. After retiring from nursing, Barbara found joy in working as a Nanny for three children—work that allowed her to travel across the United States and embrace life's many adventures.

A devoted member of Allen Chapel AME Church in Kansas City, Barbara also worshipped at Mt. Pisgah Church. She remained faithful to Allen Chapel until her health no longer allowed her to attend. Over the years, she served in various roles within the church, including stepping in as pianist. She cherished her church family and built many deep, lasting relationships through her service.

Barbara was a natural caregiver, always using her nursing gifts to support family members during times of illness. She offered counsel, comfort, and a safe space to anyone in need. Her listening ear and wise words were a refuge for many. A pillar in her community, she was respected and admired by neighborhood children, friends, and loved ones alike.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Mary Frances Jones and Willie Jean Hudspeth; and her eldest daughter, Sharon Davis.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy her children, Linette Davis, Saul Davis (Mai), Carmen Wesley (Jeffery), Dianne Donnell (Gregory), and Derrick Davis (Candy); 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
