Bernice McDonald Walker was born April 26, 1936, in Camden, Arkansas, the eldest of Glen and Odessa McDonald's eight children.

She attended public schools in Camden and Stephens, Arkansas, also the University of Arkansas in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Reared in a Christian Home, Bernice confessed Christ at the early age of nine years old at the Sweet Home Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev Jacobs.

Bernice moved to Kansas City and was united with the Emmanuel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W. H. White for 24 years, where she served faithfully as teacher of the Beginners, Young Adult, and Adult Sunday School classes, Young Matron, W.M.U., and Usher Board #2.  Later, she united with Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ under the leadership of the late Pastor Earl Abel.  She continued her dedication and faithful work for the Lord in all the above and many other areas.

Eddie and Bernice were united in marriage in 1958.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one great-grandchild, two brothers, Glenn McDonald and Cal McDonald.

She leaves to cherish and adore her precious memories, her loving husband, Eddie; two loving and caring children, Kenneth Rashad and Edwina Michelle; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Jackson of Lee's Summit, MO, Dr. Juanita Hempstead of Frisco, TX, and Onita Wade of Chicago, IL; two brothers, Raymond McDonald of Murphy, TX, and Cass McDonald of Los Angeles, CA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, neighbors, and a loving, caring, and supportive church family.
