Betty P. Jones was born in Benton, Alabama, on February 24, 1940, to Dora Peak and John Wesley Moorer. She was preceded in death by her son, husband, Willie Williams, Jr.; 13 siblings, Pearlie, Julia, Beatrice, Elizabeth, Jim Henry, Willie Fount, Andrew James, Willie Wallace, William Louis, Ollie Mae, Annie Pearl, George, and Andrew Lee.

She joined the church at an early age and gave her life to Christ under the leadership of Reverend W. G. Garrett.

She graduated from Lowndes County Training School in 1958. After which, she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where she joined Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. She was a dedicated member for over three decades under the leadership of Pastor Emmanuel Johnson. Later, she joined Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James A. Terrance, Jr. She dearly loved her church and her Sunday School family.

She was united in holy matrimony to Willie Williams, Jr.

She was employed with AT&T (formerly Western Electric) for over 20 years. After retiring early, she worked as a tax preparer for H & R Block. Upon leaving the company, she started her own tax business in 1981, BJ's Income Tax Service, in which she was the sole proprietor until the time of her passing. She was an extremely industrious person.

She was full of laughter, a jokester, and known to speak her mind. She was the life of the party, which did not officially start until she arrived. She had the gift of gab and she wanted to be the mother to all of her siblings.

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, she entered into eternity.

She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings: Juanita Moorer of Kansas City, Missouri, Lela King, Cebell Patterson, Joyce Hamilton, and John Edd Moorer all of Birmingham, Alabama, Elvira Hardy of Detroit, Michigan, and Mary Thorn of Los Angeles, California.

She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of  special nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends, acquaintances, and caregivers. Betty thought each one of you were special.

Special children: Terry Murray, Regina Arnold, Natasha Moorer, Rae Rae (Sabrina), Willie Frank, Deion Edwards; Goddaughter, Stacey Stewart.

Special friend: Vivian Lewis, Ethelyn Barnes, Gwen Fletcher, Janice Nickens, Rosalyn Jackson, and Terry White.

Betty, I'm going to miss all of your joking, your kind heart, and your bossiness. You are always right. Love, Lois.

Auntie, we love you. You taught us a lot of things. Love your niece and nephews.
