Bettye Jean was born on April 19, 1935 to the union of Acie and Birdie Lee Bradford in Smackover, Arkansas. Bettye was the 1 ^st out of 8 children.

Bettye accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at 1 ^st Baptist Church in Smackover, Arkansas.

She graduated from Smackover Training School in 1953. Shortly after she married Johnnie Primm.

In 1958, Bettye married Robert Pearson Sr and relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. While living in Kansas City she became a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church. She worked at several different restaurants and became part owner of one. She was also employed by The Canning Company and Thriftway Grocery Chain. During this time, Bettye would take her children on road trips. These trips included Six Flags in St. Louis, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Texas just to name a few. Bettye maintained two jobs most of her career. She would finally retire from Thriftway in 1994.

Bettye would spend her retirement fishing, hosting family gatherings, and dinners at her home. It could be a holiday, birthday, or just because. Her door was always open, and the stove was full.

In 1997, Bettye became a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Where she was an active member in Sunday School, WMU ministry, and Manasseh Sheepfold. She attended services faithfully until her health started to fail.

Both parents, four siblings; James Braford, Joe Willie Bradford, Johnnie Ray Bradford, Cedell Bradford; one daughter, Johnnie Louise Primm; two grandsons, Jeremy Pearson and Karl Adams; one great granddaughter, Ameerah Rucker preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories three siblings; Martha Ann Kennedy, Acie Bradford Jr, and Robert Earl Bradford. Eight children; Richard Primm, Donald (Melvina "Cricket") Primm Sr, Steve (Kayann) Pearson, Robert Pearson Jr, Glenn Pearson, Cynthia (Dennis Finnell) Pearson, Jacqueline "Jackie" Pearson, and Carol Ann (Kevin) Ross. Sixteen grandchildren; Tiesha Clark, Edward (Tragil) Johnson, Donald (Nicole)Primm Jr, Eboney (Anthony)Hogan, LaTora Davis, Donnell Byers, Terrell (Tanika) Byers, Kamilla Pearson, Leonard (Nikki)Sanders, LaRon Pearson, LaMont Pearson, Teaira Pearson, Glenn Rucker, Desmond Pearson, Tevin Ross, and Tavis Ross. Twenty-five great grandchildren. One great great granddaughter. A host of nieces, nephews, friends and church members.

Services for Mrs. Pearson will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 29, 2021, at Friendship Baptist Church.  Burial Memorial Park Cemetery.  Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M. Thursday, January 28, 2021, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
