Brenda Diane Cook was a caring and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She left this world suddenly on March 31, 2022 at the age of 79.

She was born to Stella Mae and Kenneth Smith on November 14, 1942 in Kansas City, MO. Brenda gave her life to Christ at a early age. She worked for Children's Mercy Hospital as a switchboard operator for a number of years. She loved listening to her music while dancing and loved cooking. Brenda was straightforward, honest and would speak her mind. She was family-oriented and loved her family dearly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Cook; her children, Tyrone Goodin, Tina Maupin and Hosea Adams; her parents; and her brother, Kenneth Harold Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Kim Griffin (Camille), Richard Adams (Michelle) and Carmen Adams; her sisters, Paula Fields (Raythion ), Terry Hooks, Hazel Smith; her brother, Timmy Smith (Samatha); her grandchildren, LaShaun Skinner, Stacey Davis, Latoya Adams-Harris, Freddie Wright, Jeffery Ferguson, Chaunte Davis, Mark Figous, Tiffany Page, Antoine Adams, Tkeyah Duggan, Tyrone Maupin, Taysha' Maupin, Danielle Harper, Dominique Adams, Hosea Adams Jr., Tyeshia Adams, Martez Adams; Alexis Adams, Zhane Adams, Richard Adams Jr., and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Cook will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 9:00AM at E. S. Eley and Sons Funeral Chapel.  Visitation 8:00AM.Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery.
