Carlos Maurice Henderson
was born February 2, 1964, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of
Cornelius Henderson and Mary Louise Henderson. The baby boy of the Henderson crew.
Carlos was proceeded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, his father Cornelius
Henderson and five brothers Cornelius Davis, Cornelius Henderson Jr., Larry Henderson,
Micheal Henderson and Ronald Henderson.
Carlos accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Carlos attended East High School where he received his diploma. Prior to graduation Carlos enlisted in the Marines and that same year Carlos left to serve his country. He traveled to many places with the armed forces while based in Oceanside California with the Marine Corp.
Upon his Honorable discharge from the Marines Corp. Carlos resided in Oceanside California
for multiple years before relocating back to his hometown Kansas City Missouri. Carlos
continued his education at DeVry Institute of Technology where he received his Bachelor's
degree in Computer Information Systems. He also attended Keller Graduate School where he
received his Master of Information Systems Management. Carlos worked for multiple companies in the field he loved: U.S Postal Services as a Software Development Analyst, Clinical Reference Laboratory as an Oracle Application Developer, Associate Wholesale Grocers as a Senior Developer and in his current position with YRC Worldwide as a Senior Developer.
Carlos was a very proud Marine as well as an avid historian of bad dad jokes. In his youth he
had both a Celica supra and a 94 supra which allowed him to avoid getting "speeding tickets."
As a professional he worked as a software developer. He loved his job! He was a spiritual man who sought peace through his family. He inherited a voice of a preacher, able to talk your ear off during any conversation. Carlos was a man of hope and preparation. He loved family,
especially his children. He taught his children how to take care of themselves in this large world of ours. He believed in helping others, always willing to lend a hand. Through his example his children have followed. His oldest has already finished college, his second son is currently attending college and his youngest daughter is planning on attending after high school. If you knew Carlos, you knew his daughter Conaih and his sons whom he adored.
Carlos was united in marriage to Mary Hayes: from this union two sons were born. Carlos
remarried to Crystal Reynolds; from this union a daughter was born. Both marriages were
dissolved.
Carlos Henderson departed this life on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Research Medical Center.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Carlos Henderson Jr., Colin Henderson, both of
San Diego, California and Coniah Henderson, of Kansas City Missouri: his mother, Mary Louise
Henderson, Kansas City, MO.; five sisters, Sandra Dudley, Valerie Henderson, both of Kansas
City MO., Diedre Henderson, Denver CO., Joselyn Henderson, Lee's Summit, MO. and Kristie Thornton (Darroyce), Raytown MO.; two aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Henderson will be held 2:30PM Saturday, December 18, 2021, at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Brooking Cemetery. Friends may call from 1:30PM until service time at the church.
