Carolyn L. Campbell's Obituary
Carolyn Campbell was born in Hutchinson, Kansas December 19, 1942, to the union of Clifford Jerrell and Frances Lois Skelton. She was the second child of four born to this union.
The family of four, at the time, moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Carolyn attended Wendell Phillips Elementary School and then on to graduate from Central High School in 1960. She continued her studies at Kansas City Junior College.
She was employed by the Social Security Administration and was later transferred to the United States Postal Service where she worked until retirement.
Carolyn married in 1975, to Arvil Lee Campbell, Sr. and was blessed by the birth their son, Arvil Lee Campbell, Jr. in 1978.
Carolyn was a lifelong member of Palestine Missionary Church of Jesus Christ. There, she was active member of the Usher Board for many years until her illness prevented her from continuing. She was actively involved with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and the American Business Women's Association.
She loved traveling, dinning out and spending time with her three grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart.
She departed this life on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, and was preceded in death by her parents, a nephew, Aaron Keith Shelby, husband, and a sister, Valerie Gail Skelton.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory: son, Arvil Lee Campbell, Jr.(Stephanie Branion); three grandchildren: Tyson Campbell, Anika Campbell, Lauren Campbell all of Kansas City, Missouri, two sisters; Alice Marie Lopez, of Vancouver, Washington, Lilly Shelby, of Kansas City, Missouri; two nieces: Andrea Lea Shelby of Kansas City, Missouri, Kenya Louise Skelton, of Vancouver, Washington; one nephew: Jerrell Skelton of Fairbault, Minnesota and a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
Services for Mrs. Campbell will be held 11:00 A. M. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church. Burial Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
