Charles William McRoy was born Sept. 24, 1941, to William and Catherine McRoy in Leavenworth, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joseph and Russell Green and a grandson, Victor Parrish, Jr.

After graduating from Leavenworth High School in 1959, he served in the United States Navy from 1960 to 1964.  While in the Navy he attended Anti-Submarine School and became a Sonar man Second Class US.  He held an E-5 rank. After leaving the Navy Charles worked for General Motors from 1964 to 1969.

"Mac" as he was referred to, served 30 years with the Kansas City Fire Department.  He was an F.A.O. (Driver) and received many Unit Citations and Exceptional Conduct Reports.

Charles served as a Past Master for Southgate Lodge #101 in Kansas.  He was a 32-degree Orient Consistory.

He married Elaine Henry in 1970, and to this union one child was born, Yolanda McRoy.

Brother McRoy accepted Christ at an early age and was currently a member of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church.  He was a very active Sunday School Teacher in the Men's Sunday School class and taught Bible study at evening Bible classes.  He was very instrumental in the development of Cleveland Avenue's Security Systems.  Without an official title he was active and involved behind the scenes in a variety of Auxiliaries as well as functions that promoted the well-being of Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church.  Brother McRoy was a strong Christion man that truly loved the Lord and his Church.  He had a heart of gold and would always show his love through random acts of kindness.  He will truly be missed by his Church family.

He passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories: one daughter, Yolanda McRoy; grandson, Dominique Bostic; granddaughter, Au'Tiana Bostic; great-grandson, Vaughn Parrish all of KCMO; great-granddaughter, Heaven Patton, of Liberty, MO;  fiancé, Elaine McRoy, of KCMO; two special cousins, BFF Cousin, Merl McRoy of KCMO and cousin/niece, Aricka Faulkner of Keller, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. McRoy will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Rehema Church of Independence.  Friends may call for 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.  Masonic Services will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, May 13, 2022, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
