Cheryl Faye Lewis was born May 1, 1959 in Kansas City, Kansas. She was the first of five children, born to the union of Jimmie Lee Lewis and Marjorie Walker-Lewis.

Cheryl received her early education in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Los Angeles California, Washington DC, Northumberland, Virginia and she graduated from Paseo High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age and attended Mount Horeb Baptist Ministries.

Cheryl had a love for taking care of people, so she pursued a career in the medical field and successfully completed her training as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medical Technician (CMT). Cheryl worked serving the elderly until she suffered a back injury, which caused her to retire. She loved her children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Cheryl met and fell in love with James Anthony Crockett and was married. To this union there are three children; Trina Marjorie Lewis, James Anthony Crockett, Jr., "TJ" and Jeremy J. Crockett.

Cheryl departed this life in her home on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. Both parents and three sisters Patricia Ann Lewis, Linda Lewis-Reese and Mary Campbell preceded her in death.

Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories three children, Trina Marjorie Lewis, James Anthony Crockett, Jr., "TJ" and Minister Jeremy J. Crockett, Sr., her loving sisters Sandra Lewis-Mondaine, Fawn Jo Collins, Loretta Lewis, Vora M. Lewis and Kathy Smith, six grandchildren: Tyrek Crockett, Cordé Belden, Miah Crockett, Kaylah Crockett, Ayannah Crockett and Jeremy J. Crockett, Jr. one uncle, Odom "Applejack" Walker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services for Ms. Lewis will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 5, 2022, at E. S. Eley &Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Lincoln Cemetery.  Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
