Cornelius Henderson Jr. was born September 25, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Cornelius Henderson and Mary Louise Henderson.  He was affectionately known as "June".

Cornelius Jr. was preceded in death by both maternal and paternal grandparents, his father Cornelius Henderson and four brothers Larry Henderson, Michael Henderson, Ronald Henderson and Cornelius Davis.

Cornelius Jr. accepted Christ at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri.  Cornelius attended Central High School Auto Mechanic Vocational Technical Program along with attending East High School where he received his High School Diploma.  He was later drafted into the U.S. Army.

Upon his return from the armed forces, Cornelius was employed with The City of Kansas City, Little Will's Salvage Yard and various other companies with in Kansas City.  He spent many years as a Security Attendant at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Cornelius favorite past time was being the official neighborhood mechanic on the East End for family and friends.  He loved watching lots and lots of movies, especially scary movies. He was a man of very few words and did not have a mean bone is his body.  His "wit" (humor) was one of a kind.

Cornelius was united in marriage to Thea Wanda Paden and to this union three daughters were born.  Later the marriage was dissolved.

Cornelius Henderson Jr. departed this life on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Truman Medical Center.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Stacy Henderson, Salena Armstrong (Arthur), both of Kansas City, Mo and Syronica Henderson-McIntosh (Tamika), Scottsdale AZ: his mother, Mary Louise Henderson, Kansas City, MO.; one brother, Carlos Henderson, Raytown MO.; five sisters, Sandra Dudley, Valerie Henderson, both of Kansas City MO., Diedre Henderson, Denver CO., Joselyn Henderson, Lee's Summit, MO. and Kristie Thornton (Darroyce), Raytown MO.; 6 grandchildren: 6 great-grandchildren and two aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Henderson will be held 2:30 P. M. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.  Burial Brooking Cemetery.  Friends may call from 1:30 to service time Saturday at the church.
