Cullen Otho Landis, Jr. , 71, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on April 7, 2023, at his home. Cullen was born on May 8, 1951, in Kansas City, Missouri, to loving parents Cullen and Annie Landis, Sr. His parents and three siblings Victor, Roger, and Brenda proceeded him in death.

In 1969, Cullen married Tawana Cooper and from that union three children were born - Rochelle, Tamara, and Cullen III. Years later, they separated, and Cullen never remarried.

Cullen was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from East High School in 1969. He was an outstanding athlete and talented artist and drafter. Cullen was best known for his abilities as a self-taught mechanic and gifted tradesman with carpentry skills in painting, plumbing, electrical, tile, and drywall. He was a Jack of all trades that could fix anything. Cullen rebuilt cars (including his infamous Chevy Nova) and single handedly remodeled numerous homes-not to mention his mother's home at least twice. He was also known for his cleanliness. Nothing escaped his soapy bucket of water including his children's faces and the Christmas decorations.

Cullen worked for the City of Kansas City for fourteen years in several departments including Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Pollution Control, and Rodent Control, prior to relocating to Denver, Colorado. In Denver he worked at Stewart & Stevenson, Power Inc. as a Warehouse Technician and retired after thirteen years. Most recently, he worked as a self-employed carpenter.

Cullen was a very loving father, brother, son, uncle, and friend.  He was always pranking people and cracking jokes. His laugh was contagious. Cullen enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was very well liked.

Cullen leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Rochelle Caruthers (Chris), Tamara Landis, and Cullen Landis III; three sisters, Linda Johnson (Michael), Regina Landis, and Kelsey Landis; nine grandchildren, Melanie, Mechelle, Clevon III, Danielle, Daniel Jr., Cunisha, Aundre (Dayauna), Cullen IV, and Kayla; eleven great-grandchildren Ciraya, Cobe, Cyree, Mya, Mercy, Ace, Zion, Zamir, Calli, CJ, Phenyx, and a host of extended family members and friends.
