Cynthia E. Todd was born November 19, 1960, to the union of Fred McClain Sr. and Verma McClain.  She was preceded in death by her father, and two brothers, Gilbert McClain and Fred McClain Jr.  Born and raised in Kansas City, MO.  Cynthia graduated from Central High School in 1978, and was a member of the cheerleading, volleyball and Track Teams.

For twenty six years, beginning March 4, 1995, Cynthia was employed with the United States Postal Service and had worked at several branch locations in the KC Metro area.  Prior to that she that she was employed with Lake City Ammunition Plant in Independence, MO.

Cynthia played softball for many years and was the pitcher on the family's softball team "Sunbirds."  She also enjoyed bowling which she earned many individual and team awards recording her highest average of 197 in 2006, an highest game of "290" in 2012.  She remained active in bowling until her departure.  She also enjoyed watching NBA games, college football and basketball games as well as our local KC Royals and Chiefs games.

Cynthia had a very calming personality, an enormous loving heart and a great sense of humor…just being around her always put a smile on your face,  She loved shopping for gifts to provide for her loved ones and never looked for anything in return.  Although she was not a fan of air travel, she would take a road trip with the quickness.  She was a very supportive mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to everyone she loved.  She loved spending time with family on holidays, family vacations and just on a daily basis.

She leaves to cherish her loving heart, Spirit and warming personality: her only child, Dawn Rae Todd; mother, Verma McClain; brothers, Rodney McClain and Howard McClain; sisters, Glenda "Faye" (Michael) Perry and Gaye Johnson and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Services for Ms. Todd were held Thursday, July 8, 2021, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
