Demetrius Koran Spicer, better known to us as "Deacon", was born on October 27, 1975, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the only child of Herman and Shirley Spicer.

Demetrius graduated, in 1994 from Northeast High School in Kansas City. He was an employee of KC Regional Center where he made light bulbs. He also was employed by Baptist Medical Center where he worked in the kitchen as a dish washer.

Demetrius was an active and faithful member of Morning Star Baptist Church for over 20 years. At an early age, Demetrius gave his life to Christ, then witnessed to his mother, where they got baptized together.

Demetrius Spicer came to the Smith/Williams family in 2010. Immediately he became Brother Deacon, Uncle Deacon, and Cousin Deacon. Since then, all Deacon has been is family.

Demetrius Spicer met no strangers and was loved by all.

Demetrius departed this earth on Thursday, September 23, 2021, in Kansas City, Missouri.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his Mama, Gilda Cage; brother, LeRoy 'Beau' Cage (Michelle); sister, Denise Johnson-Smith (Gregory); nieces, Anitra and Adoria Herring; nephew, Eric Jones; great-nephews, Dwight Criswell and Eric Jones II; great-niece, YaMaija Jones; aunt, Ann Spinks; uncle, Bishop Lawrence Williams, and Pastoral cousin, Maurice Gadson (Patricia-Tish); cousins, Constance (Steve) Terry, Eartha (Chuck) Bird, Lisa (George)Ellis, Reggie Gadson, Tony (Dina) Rowles, Michelle Rowles, and a host of cousins.

Services for Mr. Spicer will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 9, 2021, at E. S. Eley and Sons Funeral Chapel, Inc.  Private disposition.  Friends may call from 1:00 P. M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
