On January 1, 1950, the late Tommie Johnson (1920-2006) and Ethel Mae Hall Johnson (1928-2009) welcomed the birth of another son, Dennis Odell Johnson . He was the 3rd of five children, 4 boys and 1 girl, born to our mother, Ethel M. Hall Johnson.

Years ago, Dennis confessed Jesus Christ as The Lord of his life. Dennis transitioned on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at his home. He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brothers, Leodies and Byron Johnson; a host of aunts and uncles, and a nephew and niece.

Dennis was a Military Veteran who served honorably in the United States Army from January 20, 1967 to September 3, 1975. He attended Lincoln High School in Kansas City, Missouri, finishing his education while in the military. During his teen years, he and his brother, Raymond worked at Tony's Market on 29th and Woodland. This is where he trained to be a Butcher. Dennis was also a pretty good mechanic, always working on his cars, as well as the cars of family members and friends. He also worked for a Paper Company in North Kansas City, Missouri, making cardboard boxes, etc., and he was employed many years for the Kansas City Power & Light (now known as Evergy). Dennis loved fishing, playing chess, other games/cards etc. He liked cooking at home, dancing, and "Always" finding something hilarious to joke about.

Dennis is survived by his daughter, Tamika M. Johnson; brothers, Tommy Johnson (Mary), Robert Johnson (Ernestine), James Beasley (Barbara), Raymond Johnson (Thelma), Lonnie Johnson (Cyndi), Redrick Miller (Chunnel), Dennis and Rodney Miller; sisters, Gloria Johnson (Terry), Sharon Jolly, and Shequitta Stacker; and a host of nieces, nephews, and his closet, dearest friend, Ronnie Jones; as well as many other relatives and friends.
