Donald Ray Wells was born January 8, 1959, to Marilyn L. Wells and Raymond E. Lambert. He was raised by his stepfather, Billy J. Williams, Sr. He was preceded in death by his mother and nephew, Billy J. Williams III "Lil Bill". Mr. Donald R. Wells departed this life on Monday, September 17, 2018. He will truly be missed.
Donald R. Wells affectionately known as "Don" aka "Five" accepted Christ at an early age. He was a loving and caring son, father, grandfather, husband, brother, uncle and friend. He was a very proud and independent man who was always willing to lend a hand. He brightened up any room and was the life of the party. He enjoyed his rock-n-roll and country music. Don was a man of many talents. He was self-employed as a handyman; this allowed him the opportunity to meet some very influential people. He loved to fish and sped time with his grandchildren. He also loved helping around the church and was a youth minister during his active times within the brief time he spent in Arkansas. He always enjoyed watching a good football game and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Crystal Wells; stepchildren, Star, William (Arsean, Terik and Christopher), Bo (Mazie, Olizia), Adam Hickman and Tyrone (Brooklyn, Londyn, Jordyn) Jones; son, Jason Ross (grandchildren, Dayton and Jason Ross, Jr.); daughters, Loretta Gillard (grandchildren, Im'Unique White and DeWayne Tombs, Jr.), Dorothy Wells (grandchildren: A'ariona Bills and De'Sire Sykes); stepfather, Billy J. Williams, Sr.; brother-in-law, Christopher Turner; sisters, Kosondra Turner (nieces: Crystal and Ebone'a Turner); brothers, Billy Williams, Jr. and Edward Williams (Denise) (niece: Trinity Williams); sister, Shellie Hemphill (niece and nephew; Keenen and Kia Hemphill); father, Raymond Lambert and family with more siblings including five brothers, one sister and a host of other family and friends.
Services for Mr. Wells will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Metropolitan A.M. E. Zion Church with Pastor Michael Murray officiating. Burial Brooking Cemetery. Friends may call from 9L00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the church.
