Edna Mae Lampkin was born in Muskogee, OK on December 23, 1933, to John and Adeline Schrimsher. She was the seventh child born out of eight children.

She attended Manual Training High School in Muskogee, OK. She first married Audrey Parker of Muskogee, OK (preceded in death). They relocated to Kansas City, Missouri for a new life. She went on to have four children, Steven (preceded in death), Essie, Toni and Clinton.

Later she met and married Clarence Lampkin of Louisiana (preceded in death) and they had one child together, Clarence R. Lampkin. They were married for over 50 years.

She proudly worked at the Avon cosmetics plant in Kansas City, until retirement. While working there, she met several lifelong friends.

Edna was a member of Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years. She served on the usher board and was a Mother of the church.

She loved to fish, hunt, garden and cook. She was known for her peach cobblers, pound cakes, and dinner rolls. She loved preparing meals for family gatherings and holidays. Cooking was her passion.

Gardening was her second favorite hobby. Her gardens took up both sides of her house. They were packed full of vegetables. She also loved planting flowers in her yard. She grew roses, tulips, peonies, and many more.
