Edward Douglas Jones, Sr. was born in Kansas City, MO, May 20, 1945, to John W. Jones and Opal Holdez Jones.  He was the fourth of six children.  He was preceded in death by both parents; two brothers, Raphael and Donny; two sisters, Della Jo and Meridith.

Edward met and fathered, daughter, Christina when he was young.  He lost touch with her and always wanted to find her.  He met and married Elaine Houston in the early seventies.  Together they raised four children, Byron, Edward Jr., Candace and Shaun in Oklahoma City, OK.

Edward was strict but a present father.  He was a great father, loving husband an awesome friend and had a great sense of humor.  He loved sports and was so very proud of his children.

Edward D. Jones departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memory: five children, Christina, Byron, Edward Jr., Candace and Shaun; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his baby sister, Syliva and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  He played the father role in helping to raise his granddaughter, Samiyah and was so excited to see what she'd become….she will make him proud.

Memorial Services for Mr. Jones will be held 12:00 P.M. Friday, May 29, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Private Disposition.
