Wayne Leroy Payne Sr was born August 3, 1963 to Betty Joan (Murrell) Williams and Cecil Herman Payne in Kansas City, MO.

The family relocated to Oklahoma City, OK where Wayne attended Northeast High School. He graduated in 1982 and was a member of the Bio Medical Research Program and the School Gospel Choir.  Afterwards, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA where he worked as a Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Elder Wayne has always had a passion for the Lord. He started preaching at the age of 15 at The Greater Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, OK and eventually ordained at the Abiding Love Christian Fellowship in 1997 in Los Angeles, CA.

Wayne went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2021. His family paid this tribute to him, "Wayne was one of the strongest people we knew. Throughout his life he never complained. His strong will, determination and love for God and Family was unmatched. He will be deeply missed."

He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, sisters Cecelia Katherine Payne and Denita Lorine (Payne) Douglas and brother Edwin Leroy Payne. He will be sadly missed by his son Wayne Leroy Payne Jr, Brother Orlando Herman Payne, Sister Linda Janet (Payne) Cosar a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services for Mr. Payne will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 7, 2021, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until service time Friday at the chapel.
