Ella Virginia Webb, affectionately known to her family and friends for her gentle spirit, warm heart, and quiet strength, was born on July 20, 1948, in Gates, Tennessee, to the union of Herbert and Ella Lee Williams. On August 10, 2026, Ella peacefully went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by the love of her family.

Ella was the oldest of nine children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings; her daughter, LaTonya; her son, Robert; and her beloved husband, Joseph Demery.

In 1954, Ella’s parents relocated the family from Gates, Tennessee, to Kansas City, Missouri, where she was educated. She graduated from Manual High School in 1966. Throughout her life, Ella built a beautiful legacy centered on her faith in Christ, her children and grandchildren, her family, and her commitment to serving others.

Ella leaves to cherish her beautiful memory: her son, Dell Webb, Sr. (Yolanda); brothers, Herbert, Forrest and Donnell Williams; sisters, Marion White and Vernita Spears; son-in-law, Kenneth Johnson; grandchildren, Kristopher (Michelle), Keona (Rafiq), Terrill Johnson, Lia, Robert Jr., Rochelle and Rachelle Williams; Shaunte, Donte, Dell Jr., Mariah Webb, 19 great-grandchildren, her lifetime friends and sisters, Charlane “Ann” Richardson and Alexis Conner and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
