Elroy Luster Jr., 50, died on Saturday August 8, 2020, at his home. Elroy was born in Kansas City, MO on June 23, 1970 to Elroy and Sugar Lee Luster.

Elroy was proceeded in death by his father, Elroy Luster Sr. and both sets of grandparents: Odie and Mary Gorden, Rev. Capus and Sugar Lee Hamplton.

Elroy professed a belief in Jesus Christ at an early age at the Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. I. H. Henderson.

Elroy was raised in Kansas City, MO and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1988. After high school he attended the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. He worked for the Clark County Animal Control where he found a passion for animals. Elroy later returned to Kansas City where he worked for other substantial companies including: United States Department of Agriculture, Mid-State Aerospace, Sprint, and the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Elroy was affectionately called "Roy" and "Big Dog" by family and friends. He was caring, loving, and had a gracious spirit who loved being around people. He enjoyed entertaining company and seeing people happy. He had such a big heart, he always found time to help everyone he encountered. He loved cooking, music, landscaping, taking pictures and animals were his biggest passion. One of his favorite hobby was collecting his family photos and placing them on his "Wall of Fame."  However, his most prized possessions were his love for his children, as he was a single father of four.

Elroy's memories will be forever cherished by his family. He is survived by his four children Demetra S. (Jaron) Poe, Roy A. Luster, Shelby S. Luster, Elroy Luster III; nine grandchildren R'Mani O. Luster, Izaiah D. White, Jaidense S. Poe, Haidyn L. Poe, Royce A. Luster, Roy A. Luster Jr.,  Prince J. Poe, Maliah R. Williams, Royalty A. Luster; Mother, Dr. Sugar Lee Lewis; two sisters Michell R. Luster, Yolanda D. Luster; one Niece Cheyenne K. Francois; one Nephew Brandon K. Francois; one uncle Edgar B. (Mary L.) Thomas; of Johnstown, PA and a host of beloved cousins, relatives and friends. He is also survived by two longtime friends, Kenya Baker and Grover Chatmon.

Services for Mr. Luster will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2020, at E. S .Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
