Francine Ann Amenita Harrington was born February 11, 1950 in Brooklyn, New York to Delores Souta and Frederick Amenita. Her mother, father and Joseph preceded her in death.

Mama Francine (as we call her) was married to William Harrington. To this union a son was born Joseph Fredrick Harrington.

They moved to Kansas City in the early 80's where Joseph attended school and soon started his military career, which span over 3 decades.

Mama Francine loved children and people, so she started her endless giving and helping.  There was not one child she ran across that she didn't love and one human being she didn't help in some manner.

She was always a part of any program that helped people because that's who she was.

Everyone has a purpose on this earth and hers was helping, giving and doing!

She than pursued a dream of hers to become a teacher and taught at Border Star on Brookside, she then went on to manage apartment complexes here in Kansas City until her health declined.

She was a part of many churches here in Kansas City but her church home was Bethel AME, where she worshiped and served until she could no longer do so.

She always wanted a daughter, so God blessed her with a spiritual daughter, Wilma whom she cherished and loved as her own.  She was also blessed with a spiritual son Andre and took on their children and grandchildren like they were her own.

She had many friends but none like Janice Steward. Janice stood by her side through good and bad times and would always come to help when she was needed.

Mama Francine will surely be missed and this world has a void because she is gone.  But she will live on in our memories and heart.

She leaves a sister, Roseanna Beaudreau of FL; goddaughter, Wilma Bishop, and godson, Andre Bishop both of Kansas City; godchildren, Kosha Chandler (Mitchell) of Kansas City, Ireonna King, Elijah Bishop, Gabriel Walsh; longtime friends, Janice Stewart and Michael Williams; her church family and a host of children and friends who loved her and she loved.
