Frank Carl Fisher, Jr. , 78, born on August 27, 1945, in Kansas City Missouri, was the first of 5 children born to Elizabeth and Frank C. Fisher Sr. His wife Gloria, his parents, and one brother, Michael Fisher, proceeded him in death.  Frank received Christ at an early age and attended Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for many years with his wife Gloria "Peaches" and the kids until she passed away in 2007.

Frank grew up on his grandparents' farm in Boswell, Oklahoma.  Being the athlete that he was, he played as a guard for the Dunjee High School Boys Basketball Team. Upon graduating in 1963, Frank attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, Oklahoma on a basketball scholarship where he played for 1 year before enlisting in the United States Navy where he served 4 years. During this time, he would be stationed in Norfolk, Virginia where he would eventually meet the love of his life, Gloria Evon Jones.

Upon being honorably discharged, Frank and Gloria were wed November 2, 1968, and relocated to Kansas City Missouri. To this union, two children were born, Sharon (Shay) and Anthony (Tony).

Frank took a job with Menorah Medical Center until he landed a position with Phillips Oil Refinery in Fairfax, Kansas. Due in part to his country upbringing, Frank was always good with his hands and eventually was promoted to Mechanics Supervisor and remained in this role until Phillips closed its Fairfax location in August, 1982. Determined not to have to move his family back to the city and out of the Raytown School District, Frank took on multiple jobs at once. These jobs included cleaning offices for B&G Maintenance and traveling to rural areas to spray crops for Weed Cope. Frank would eventually land a role with Colgate-Palmolive.  During the remainder of his working years, Frank went on to work for other reputable companies such as Cook Paint, Allis- Chalmers, Lipton (Unilever), General Motors, and retired from Owens-Corning in October 2007.

On the weekends, Frank could be found on a Saturday afternoon watching college basketball/football, enjoying a good ole Western flick, hanging with The Crew down at Oliver's, yelling at the TV during a good Saturday night boxing match, or relaxing with a day full of Sunday NFL games.

Pops had his own special relationship with each of his children. He and Tony bonded over boxing matches, guns, cars, styles, their love for music, and a glass of good whiskey.  Always avid sports fanatics, Pops and Shay shared their love for sports of all kinds but particularly college football/basketball, the Olympics, and NFL/NBA.

Also lovingly known as "Junior" and "Pops", Frank was a true patriarch in every sense of the word and protective of his tribe. He was slow to warm up to folks, but once you were in, you were IN, and he had you. As a retiree, part of his daily ritual was to call around to check on his close friends, siblings, and family members. One thing that was certain—his calls were likely not to last more than 45-50 seconds. He was straight and to the point: "Hey ___! How you doing? I didn't want nothing, just calling to check on you. I love you, have a good evening, and I'll talk to you later."

He was big on family, especially his grandkids and great-grandson, who referred to Pops as "Pa-Pa". He supported them as much as possible—rarely missing an important event--and cherished them dearly.

To know Frank was to love him. He was a talker and loved to share old stories from his childhood in the country with his cousin Speck, his time spent in the Navy, and how he met Mom. His raw sense of humor, dapper style, protective nature, hard work ethic, smooth two-stepping skills, romantic side, along with his "Papa don't take no mess" attitude was a treat to all who were blessed enough to be in his tribe.

Frank, Jr. leaves behind to cherish his memory: one daughter, Sharon "Shay" Dean of Kansas City MO; one son, Anthony "Tony" Fisher of Independence MO; two brothers, Robert Fisher of Kansas City MO and Richard Fisher Sr. (Bettie) of Blue Springs MO; one sister, Ann Parker (William) of Kansas City MO; three granddaughters, Tyler King (Charles) of Arlington TX, Stevie Anderson of Kansas City MO, and Eden Anderson of Kansas City MO; one great grandson, Chace Carter Jr. of Kansas City MO; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the Ole Oliver's Gang.
