Gerald "Boots" Dixon was born December 17,1949 in New Orleans Louisiana, to the union of Doris May Williams and Frank Dixon. The Family moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1953, where his mother met Sylvester Jones. He was raised by Sylvester Jones, the only Father he and his siblings knew.

He accepted CHRIST at an early age attending Annunciation Catholic School during his primary years. He moved to the Kansas City Missouri Public School District. He attended Central High School and became a proud Blue Eagle, class of 1968.

He was employed as a baker at Taystee and Wonder Bread for several years. He later joined the Family Business of roofing and painting where he worked until his untimely death. Gerald was a wonderful person with a gigantic heart, giving his last on many occasions to anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris May Jones; father, Sylvester Jones; brother, Gilbert Dixon; sister, Deirdre Williams; and son, Gerald L. Dixon.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one brother, Michael Dixon (Melinda); the woman he spent most of his life with, Ms. Leashell A. Jackson-Newsome; also survived by 3 remaining children, Kenneth Dale, Lamont Reese and Patrice Shawntay Jackson; seven grandchildren, Zaria and Romiya Dunlap, Lyric Jane Allen, Demond Artez, Davon Cortez, Desiya Shawntay Davis Jackson and Dailiya Barbara Jackson; two special cousins, Phillip Butler and Jannise Wells; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
