Arnold Hayes Jr was born on February 22, 1952 in Bessemer, Alabama to Mary Francis Jackson and Arnold Hayes Sr. Both of his parents proceeded him in death. The youngest of his 3 siblings, Paulette Walker, Gerald Hayes, and Mary-Ann Watson.

After attending high school, he enlisted in the military during the Vietnam war. After leaving the military, Arnold moved from Bessemer to Mobile, Alabama where he met Hanunah Mateen, and had three children and welcomed four step children.

He loved Sci-Fi and old karate movies, ice cream and working with his hands. Arnold was extremely talented in carpentry, construction, mathematics and electrical wiring. With these skills, he was self employed throughout the duration of his life. He will be remembered as a beacon for advice and honesty.  As one of the most headstrong people we have ever known, this was balanced with his intelligence and love for his family.  He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his children Aminah Hayes, Arnold "Prince" Hayes III, Ada Colin, Halalah Rashada, Nafeesah Smith, Muhammad Abuwi, An-Nisaa Rashada, Tauheed Rashada and his fiancée Caroline "Zoe" Place.

Services for Mr. Hayes will be held 1:00 P.M., Sunday, July 11th, 2021 at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Private Disposition.  Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. until service time, Sunday, at the chapel.
