Gloria Scales was born January 13, 1936 to the parents of Mattie Jones Scales and DeSoto Scales in Chicago, IL.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert Willie Tribitt, one son, Robert Tribitt, Jr, one brother, Alfonso Scales and four sisters, Florence Johnson, Willa Mae Williams, Adriene Scales and Claudia Scales Solomon.

She received her education at Dunbar High School and Wilson Junior College in Chicago, IL, where she studied Bookkeeping and Music.  Gloria was employed at Spiegel's Catalog, The U. S. Postal Service in Chicago and retired from Internal Revenue Service in KCMO.

Gloria and Robert Willie Tribitt, Sr. were married December 19, 1954.  Five children were born to this union: Robert, Jr, Bishop Keith, Pamela, Kevin and Patrick.  In 1976, Robert accepted a job opportunity and moved the family to Kansas City, MO.

Gloria was a member of the Canaan Baptist Church in Chicago and Old Ship of Zion Baptist Church of Chicago, Ill.  Later moving to Kansas City, MO, she became choir director and lead pianist at Pleasant Green Baptist Church and Greystone Baptist Church.

Her hobbies were music, sewing, traveling and shopping.  Mother Tribitt favorite Scripture was Psalm 37 and her favorite songs were: "Dear Jesus I Love You" by Walter Hawkins and "You're All I Need" by Hezekiah Walker.

Mother Gloria "Ma" Tribitt departed this earthly life on Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory: Bishop Keith Tribitt, Sr. (LaTonya), Pamela Tribitt-Kalu Ole, Kevin Tribitt and Patrick Tribitt (Diane); grandchildren, Shawn Tribitt, Jason Tribitt (Kesha), Timothy Tribitt (Cassandra), Robert Tribitt, III (Autumn) Daniel Tribitt (Sheba), Ayana Tribitt, Valencia Tribitt, Keith Tribitt Jr., Micah Tribitt, Branden Taylor Tribitt, Victoria Kalu-Ole and Kaya Tribitt; siblings, Anita Bolden, and Patricia (Irene) Pollard and a host of extended and blended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other loving relatives and friends.

Services for Ms. Tribitt will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Victory Temple Christian Life Center.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Monday at the church.
