Harece Lynette Smith was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 21, 1961. She was the ninth child born to the union of William and Patricia Smith, who preceded her in eternity along with her elder sister Lorraine Maloney, eldest brother Eugene Smith, and nephew Johnny Peterson, II.

Harece grew up in church. She had a love for music, and she used to write many children's songs and jingles. She was known to be very humorous and everyone who knew her loved her. She attended Lincoln High School. She worked in security and public safety most of her career at the Kansas City Public Schools, Bannister Mall, Truman Medical Center, St. Luke's Hospital, and Children's Mercy Hospital. She loved serving her community and people.

Harece had so many families and friends not mentioned as we all know she was well-loved and will be deeply missed.

She leaves to mourn and cherish her memory: siblings Willa, Patricia, Vincent, Eric, Craig, Keith, nephew Sidney; two daughters Lessie Smith-Murathe (Steve) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Tymeka Smith of Houston, Texas; one son Roosevelt Ackers of Denver, Colorado.

She will also be remembered by her grandchildren who loved her more than life Elise, Tyson, Deron, Cerenity, Cherish, Aliyah, and her best friend since grade school Teresa Rogers.
