Harold C. White, Jr. 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at his family residence.  Harold, lovingly known to family and friends as "Hick"/ "Uncle Hick", "Bone"/"Bonecutter", was born on August 15, 1938, in Cherokee, KS to Harold L. White, Sr. and Agnes (Yokum) White.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert White; his wife, Debra Nevels-White; two daughters, Tawana White and Latrice Nevels.

He attended Douglass School, an all-black school, in Parsons, KS and was a graduate of the Parsons Senior High School Class of 1956.  He also attended Parsons Junior College.

Harold served/enlisted in the US Army in 1958, and received an honorable discharge in 1961. Harold was awarded and received a Purple Heart for his service. He was employed in healthcare most of his career at both Menorah Medical Center and Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO where he worked and retired as a surgical technician in the central sterilization department for a cumulative time of 35 years.

Aside from traveling to visit his children, Harold spent his retirement years at the casino playing the slot machines.  He spent time at the casino not only because he loved to play the slot machines but the casino allowed him to socialize with his friends-old and new.  Harold was a warm, fun-loving person who was always smiling and loved to make people laugh.  He also loved to fish, cook, travel, play dominoes, telling jokes and funny stories.  His energy was infectious and he will be sorely missed.

He is survived by: his brothers, Delbert White Sr. of Raytown, MO and Lawrence (Doris "Midge") White of Kansas City, MO; sister, Emma Boyd of Baxter Springs, KS; sons, Harold "Peewee" C. White III of Parsons, KS, Torre White of KCMO, Dionandre Sylvester of Toledo, OH, Cortez White of Parsons, KS, Anthony Jones of Wichita, KS; two honorary sons, Monte White of Parsons, KS and Theron "Teddy" English Jr. of KCMO; daughters, Tonya Stephens of Coffeyville, KS, Leslie (Terry) Thomas of Van Buren Township, MI and Latricia (Mbee) Godfrey of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Antonio "Tony" Anderson, Tanae Stephens, Dominique (Antonio) Clifton, Aaliyah Thomas-Raheem, Briauna White, Logan Nevels-Lee, Ciara White, Brailynn White, Ryan Nickens and Devon Nickens; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 godson, Terrell and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends to mourn his passing and celebrate his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Herbert White; his wife, Debra Nevels-White; two daughters, Tawana White and Latrice Nevels.

Services for Mr. White will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 11, 2020, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation 10:00 A.M. until service time Monday at the chapel.
