Harvey J. Chatmon was born September 7, 1971, to the union of Howard and Alberta Chatmon in Kansas City, KS.

Harvey began his educational journey in the Kansas City, Kansas Public School District.  He completed his high school diploma from Washington High School in 1990.  He held employment within the transportation and automotive industry including his latest position with Kansas City, Kansas Public School Transportation Services as a driver.

Harvey was given back to Christ as an adolescence and throughout his formative years, he attended Greater Pentecostal Temple in Kansas City, KS were he rededicated his life back to Christ.

Harvey enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, cooking, music and spending time with his family.

Harvey departed this life on Wednesday, May 13, 2020.  He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Howard and Alberta Chatmon; brother, Howard Chatmon, Jr. and sisters, Willa J. Williams and Harriett E. Chatmon.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Lalita Chatmon; son, Sion Midgyett; two sisters, Earnestine Burton and Lorraine Chatmon; brother, Willie McGough, brother-in-law, James Grant III; sisters-in-law, Yolanda (Kenny) Feagans, Twanna Pankey and Brianna (Walter) Graves; niece (sister) Helena Dodd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Harvey had a gentle and humorous personality and was loved and inspired by so many. He will be greatly missed.

Services for Mr. Chatmon will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Eley & Son Chapel. Private Disposition.  Visitation 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the chapel.
