Henderson "Hendo" Hill, Jr. was born October 27, 1949, to Henderson Hill, Sr. and Anna Lee Johnson-Hill.  He is the number 2 child of 6 siblings: James Earl Johnson, Howard Hill (Julia), Chester Hill (Tina).

Henderson is preceded in death by both of his parents, Henderson Hill Sr. and Anna Lee Johnson-Hill; two brothers, Larry Hill and Kenneth Hill; and best friend, Edward "Skippy" Medina.

Henderson attended and graduated from East High School in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was a standout track and field athlete.

Hendo was a member of the United States Marine Corps, who served in the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart recipient.

He met his wife, Linda C. Hill, and they were married on June 30, 1979. They were blessed with 7 children, 20 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

He worked for Wonder Bread, the Kansas City Water Department, and the Kansas City Fire Department (where he retired after 25 years of service).

Hendo was an avid runner and a devout Christian who loved the Lord.  He gave his life to Christ and was an active member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as the Associate Pastor.

He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Hill; children, Derrick Hardy (Kim), Erick Hill (Sandra), Rodney Tanner, Joel Tanner, Adam Bowers (Kristen), Yolanda Dale (Michael), and Henderson Hill, III; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, cousins, nieces, nephews, close friend and brother-in-law, Ronald Carter; and a host of friends and family members.
