Henry Wilson Dawn. Jr. , 75, departed this life on November 6, 2023. He was born April 18, 1948, and was the second oldest of Five children born to Henry Wilson Dawn, Sr. and Victoria Dawn (Perry). Both parents & two sisters, Gloria J. Dawn and Elease D. Dawn preceded him in death.

His parents moved to Kansas City, Mo.in 1951 where he was educated in the Kansas City, Mo. School District. Henry attended D.A. Holmes Grade School and graduated from Central Senior High School in 1966. Henry (JAB) as he was known by close family and friends loved to draw and he also studied martial arts (Karate).

He joined the United States Air Force on April 15, 1968, and was stationed at Lackland AFB in Lackland, TX. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 30, 1972.

Henry returned to Kansas City in 1975. And was employed with Folgers Coffee Company.

He leaves to mourn his passing one brother, Nathaniel Dawn (Deborah); one sister Barbara J. Brown (Robert); two nephews, Martino K. Dawn and Carlton M. Brown; one niece Michelle N. Guzman; one great-nephew Marcus W. Dawn; one great-niece Gloria E. Guzman and host of relative and friends.

Services for Mr. Dawn will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday December 6, 2023, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel Inc. Burial Leavenworth National Cemetery friends may call from 9 am to 10 am at the chapel.
