Henry Ray Mincey, Sr. , 77, was the first born of nine children on May 2, 1946, in Samson, Alabama to Jack and Leora Mincey.  His parents and six siblings; Angela Marie, Jeffery, Donald, Joel, Waree and Yvonne all preceded him in death.  Henry confessed a hope in Jesus Christ at an early age.

After graduating from Merrill High School in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Henry joined the United States Navy where he served for four years. Upon being honorably discharged, he made his home in Kansas City, Missouri. He, then, gained employment with the Jackson County Sheriff Department of the Kansas City Metro area as a deputy sheriff.  Later, he became a detective for the department.

Henry obtained an Associates Degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He was a member of the S.W.A.T. team and went on to attend and graduate from the F.B.I. Academy in Quantico, Virginia.  He remained with the Metro Kansas City Division of Jackson County for 18 years.

In 1987, Henry relocated to Tacoma, Washington where he continued his work in law enforcement. Henry attended and completed graduate work at the University of Phoenix, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management.  Because of his years of experience, outstanding performances at the workplace and educational preparation, Henry became the director of the program "Safe Street" (Reduce crime, drugs & gang interest). Henry, also, gave leadership to the program "G.R.E.A.T." (Gang Resistance, Education and Training) in Bremerton, Washington. In 1997, he filled the Assistant Chief of Police position in Bremerton.

During the course of his life, Henry became the husband of three wives. Barbara, Stella and Corliss. He, also, was the father of three sons.

Henry Ray leaves to cherish his memory: three sons, Donald Mincey (Laina) of the State of Texas, Markel Clayton (Tamara) of Atlanta, Georgia, Henry Ray Mincey, Jr. of Grandview, Missouri; two sisters, Pamela Givhan of Kansas City, Kansas and Carol Sherrill (Jeffery) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 11 grandchildren, Morgan, Zahrea, Ze'dah and Zene Clayton, Lorenzo, Denzel, Aleeah, Sulese, Taneeah, Domonique Mincey and Henry Ray Mincey, III; five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
