Hilda Lee Armstrong was born in Kansas City, Missouri, May 25, 1920, to George and Cordelia Beatty.  However, at the tender age of two, she was reared by her beloved stepfather, Randolph Hopkins.

In 1936, she graduated from Lincoln High School and was an alumnus of the class of 1935, as well as 1936.

Hilda was married to Edward W. Armstrong, Sr. for 58 years, who preceded her in death.  For some 33 years, Hilda was employed at K U Medical Center as a supervisor and operations manager in the housekeeping department.

She joined Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Isaiah H. Henderson, Jr. and was a dedicated member until health issues prevented her from doing so. While a member, she taught the Adult Sunday School #2 Class, was a member of the Chancellor Choir, served as Chairperson of the Daisy Stevenson Circle, was a member of the Daytime Prayer Meeting and musician for Daytime Prayer.  In addition to the preceding church related services, she belonged to the Manasseh Sheepfold and the Widow & Widower's Group.

Hilda is survived by: her sons, Edward W. Armstrong, Jr. of Marina, California, Brian K. Armstrong of Kansas City, MO; daughter, Sandra P. Lamb and son-in-law, Carroll Lamb of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, Rita Cloud of El Cajon, California and Verceena Brown-Cody of Independence, Missouri.

Services for Mrs. Armstrong will be held 11:00 A. M. Friday, October 1, 2021, at Friendship Baptist Church.  Burial Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 until service time Friday at the church.  Services are being live-streamed from Friendship Baptist Church.
