Jackie Brown Sr. was born May 15, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Omar Brown and Olivia Ricks. He was the oldest of two children.
He grew up in Kansas City, Mo and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1955.
He was united in marriage, August 6, 1962 to Evelyn Norwood. To this union, four children were born, Donna Yvonne, Jackie Jr., Anthony Shawn, and Roderick Levough.
"JB", the preferred name used by his family and friends, submitted his life to Christ at a later age. He was a very hard worker during his life on earth. He enlisted into the Air Force in 1957 and served with the military until 1959. His career path took him to work for the Post Office in 1960 until he retired after 34 years of service. After he retired, he worked for the IRS for a short period of time.
During Jackie's later years, he eventually became a grandfather of 15 and great grandfather of one. He really enjoyed watching sports, old TV shows, reading the newspapers, and relishing a peaceful and calm retired life. Preceding him in death were his parents Omar Brown and Olivia Ricks and stepmother, Antronette Brown.
On September 10, 2018 in Liberty Missouri, Our Heavenly Father decided to take our earthly father home to rest.
He leaves those behind to cherish his loving memories to his children, Donna Hampton, Jackie Brown Jr., Anthony Brown, and Roderick Brown: sister, Diane Beard.
Services for Mr. Brown will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel. Burial XII Gates Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
