James Anthony "Tony" Crockett, Sr. was born November 4, 1957, in Kansas City, Kansas. He is the third of six children born to Jerome Crockett and Mary E. Crockett. He is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, father, mother, and brother, Terrance Dale Crockett.

Tony received his early education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District, attended J.S. Chick Elementary, William A. Knotts Elementary, and Southeast Junior and Senior High School. He graduated in 1976. He loved playing football.

Tony met the love of his life, Cheryl F. Lewis. They were married on November 4, 1977.  He was blessed with four beautiful children: Trina Lewis, James "TJ" Crockett, Jr., Jeremy Crockett, Sr., and Brian J. Stuart.

Tony loved sports, especially The Chiefs and The Lakers. One of his favorite hobbies was playing pool. And he loved telling everyone about the goodness of God.

Tony worked at KC Meat Packing Plant, drove for Yellow Cab, and owned and drove his own dump truck. He eventually owned and operated Crockett's Auto Polish and Detail at 7744 Troost.

Tony was outgoing and loved serving his family and community.

Tony gave his life to Christ and was an active member at Macedonia Baptist Church.

Tony leaves behind his legacy of 8 grandchildren; two brothers Michael Crockett and Jeffery Crockett; two sisters Vicki (Crockett) Boyd and Tonya Crockett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends.

As we all come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Tony, we know that he is pleased to have orchestrated the biggest family reunion in years!
