James Craig Lewis was born on February 28, 1961, in Kansas City, Missouri to Kenneth Leon Lewis Sr. and Hollie Mae Lewis.  His parents, brother, Wayne Lewis, grandparents, Willa Mae Lewis, Percival and Finnetta Sturges; aunt, Priscilla Ford and uncle, Eugene Lewis preceded him in death.

James was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.  James enjoyed life and loved to be around family.  James also loved to sing.  James never allowed his disability to slow him down.  He believed he could do anything he put his mind to and he did it.

James Craig Lewis departed this earthly life on Friday, December 6, 2019.

James leaves to cherish his memory: two brothers, Kenneth L. Lewis Jr. (Glenda), Mark E. Lewis, one sister, Willetta Lewis (David Thomas); nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Lewis will be held 3:00 P. M. Friday, December 20, 2019, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Friends may call from 2:00 P.M. until service time Friday at the chapel.
