James E. Washington aka "Butch" was born to the proud parents of James and Deloris Washington on November 16, 1954. His wife, Anita, brother, Michael, and parents preceded him in death.

He attended Kumpf Elementary School and then went to Paseo High School where he graduated in May, 1973.

In 1976, Butch joined the Army National Guard and served until 1982.

Butch was a believer in Jesus Christ.  During his life, Butch was a prankster. He loved playing pranks on his brother, Earl.  He enjoyed working with his hands and enjoyed tinkering with electronics.  He had a close relationship with his uncle, Nathaniel Washington working in his janitorial business along with painting homes.

Butch was a lifelong resident of Shangri-La Rehab & Living Center and was well liked by staff and residents.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sisters, Celeste Barton of Blue Springs, Missouri, Sylvia Richards of Fontana, California, Frances Harding of Blue Springs, Missouri; brother, Duane Washington (Shirley) of Blue Springs, Missouri along with a host of relatives and friends.

Services for Mr. Washington will be held 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 6 , 2022, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Burial XII Gates Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call form10:00 A. M. until service time Monday at the chapel.
