James Edward "Eddie" Weaver, Jr.  was born April 21, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Lorraine M. Weaver and James Edward Weaver, Sr. He was the eldest son of five children born to his mother. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lorraine M. Weaver and James Edward Weaver; his son, James Edward "Lil Eddie" Weaver, III; and his sisters, Carolyn Weaver and Cynthia Stephens. 

James received his education through the Kansas City, Missouri, Public School District, attending Annunciation Catholic School and Central, and later received his G.E.D. At the age of 17, James volunteered for the Vietnam draft. He served in the United States Armed Forces as a Specialist E5. He was later honorably discharged in 1971. 

James grew up Catholic but later turned to the spiritual belief of Buddhism. 

James had a great love for nature, weather, and the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. 

James departed from this life on July 18, 2026, at The Abode Health and Wellness Center. 

He leaves to cherish his memory: his sister, Phyllis Weaver; his brother, Michael Weaver; nephew, Derron Weaver; nieces, Shana Stephens, Danisha Weaver, Brittney Weaver, Deondra Weaver, Terrilyn Stamps, and Deshante Weaver; and a large host of relatives and friends.
