Jean Harlean Anderson was born on January 23, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Vernon Rhodes and Emily Rowland. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, Julius Davis; her husband of 25 years, Leon Anderson; her sister, Carloyn Clark; brothers, Duane Thorton and Eldridge Rhodes; and her beloved granddaughter, G'na Me'cole Johnson.

After graduating from Lincoln High School, Jean began her career at Mobil Oil. She dedicated many years of hard work before retiring in 1993. Even in retirement, Jean continued to share her warmth and wisdom with those around her.

Known for her infectious laughter and kind spirit, Jean brought joy to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Jean Anderson. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved you.

Jean leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Stephen B. Johnson, Sr; also her number two son, Elliott Alexander who she truly treated as her own; sisters, Patricia Rhodes and Duandelyn Howard; bothers, Robert Dorsey (Rene), Beadie Eugene Milton, Robbie L. Rhodes, Sr., Benjamin F. Rhodes, Thomas G. Rhodes, Vernon D. Rhodes Jr. and Willie Awbrey; sister-in-law, Mina Thornton; grandchildren, Stephen B. Johnson, Jr, Duane Johnson, Chris Brownfield, Brandon Brownfield, Ryan Brownfield, Letitia Brown, Kellen Anderson; 9 great-grandchildren, Aunje, Hazel, Ciandra, Ce'Liyah, Duce, Calianna, Kellen, Jr., and Kaili; and host of nieces and nephews.
