Jerry Woodrow Rollie , age 93, was born December 14, 1930, in Elaine, Arkansas to the union of Quentin and Lily Mae (Childress) Rollie. Both parents preceded him in death.

Jerry was called home on Thursday morning, December 21, 2023. He was the firstborn of eight children, five of whom preceded him in death.

Jerry's primary schooling was in Elaine, Arkansas. In 1951, Jerry moved to Kansas City, Missouri, where he met and married Miss Pearline Fitzpatrick. To this union was born one son, Jerry Rollie, Jr. and two daughters, Kimberly Sue and Cassandra Rollie.

Jerry was baptized into the Church of Christ at a very early age. He attended services faithfully until his health began to fail.

When Jerry was able, he helped older people who lived in the neighborhood. Jerry would take them to doctor appointments, to the grocery store, or whatever they needed, he was there and willing to help. Jerry loved fishing. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening and yard work. Jerry also loved his overalls. Almost every time you saw Jerry he had on a pair of overalls.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Pearline, of 62 years; son, Jerry, Jr., daughters, Kimberly (Keith) Johnson and Cassandra Rollie, all of Kansas City, Missouri; and daughter, Rita Rivers (by a previous marriage) of Marvel, Arkansas; sisters, Birdie Wilbon of Wichita, Kansas and Christine Price of Kansas City, Missouri; 16 Grandchildren; and 55 great grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

Jerry (Hop) will truly be missed.
