JoAnn Horn was born December 23, 1951, in Kansas City, MO to the parents of Joseph Horn and Irma Jackson Horn.  Both parents, two brothers, Billy Horn and Russell Simmons and her sister, Cherise Simmons preceded her in death.

She attended Yeager Elementary School, Central Junior High and Central Senior High, where she graduated with the class of 1969.

JoAnn worked various jobs across the metro area of Kansas City, MO.  When her health began to fail she retired from her job at Balls-Price Chopper in Kansas City, KS where she had worked for several years.

JoAnn moved from Missouri across the river to Kansas City, KS where she met the love of her life, Charles Glen Smith who in 2018, also preceded her in death.

JoAnn Horn passed away comfortably at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, KS on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

She is survived by: her cousins, Amelia Woodfin-Patterson, Rita Scott and Russell (Jessie) Torrence; two nieces, Chevaun Simmons and Keshia Lynn Moore and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services for Ms. Horn will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2022, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.  Private Disposition.  Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until service time Saturday at the chapel.
