Josevedious Scoggin was born on September 27, 1975, to Sheryl Annette Scoggin and Johnny Scoggin.  He was the youngest of four children.

Joe attended First Baptist of Murfreesboro, Arkansas where he came to know the Lord and Savior at a very early age.

Joe attended Murfreesboro High School and Hot Springs High School and graduated in 1995.  He was a star football player, ran track and loved wrestling with his friends.

Joe Scoggin married Emma Bilodou in 1997, divorced in 2005, and married Mandy L. Button in 2016.  Joe was a dedicated father of five children – Makayla R. Scoggin, Josevedious Scoggin, Jr., Trenity K. Scoggin, Madison L. Scoggin, and JossLyn A. Scoggin.

Joe was a wonderful man with an infectious smile, joked and laughed from the day he was born until the day he was called to the Lord.  Joe was a farm boy who liked country and western music and spent his early years farming in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.  Joe developed a green thumb and found a love in gardening and raising plants.  He spent most of his early years with his siblings and Grandfather Paris Scoggin and his best friend Wes until he moved to Nashville and then to Hot Springs, Arkansas where he began his life of cooking.  Many times, when you asked him what he was cooking.  His answer was food, which was his passion.  He had a love for fishing and no matter where he lived, he would own a fishing pole and know where all the best fishing spots were in the area.  Joe loved and became a Chiefs Fan after moving to Kansas City, Missouri.  When Joe arrived in Kansas City, he helped his sister by teaching her everything he knew about food and restaurants developing many of the recipes and processes over the last 10 years.  His Brother-in-Law would say, Joe could make a paper bag taste good.  Joe loved life.  He was humble, kind, and treated everyone like he knew them from childhood.  He loved and was appreciative of his family and always the peach maker and never stopped playing and making jokes.  He lived for his children.  What made his children happy is what made him happy.

Joe leaves t cherish his memory, his wife Mandy Scoggin; his children, Makayla R. Scoggin, Josevedious Scoggin, Jr., Treanity K. Scoggin, Madison L. Scoggin, and JossLyn A. Scoggin; one sister, Kimberly Scoggin-Bush (Charles), Nolan Scoggin, Johnny Scoggin (Satina), honorary brother Wes Parris (Amy), and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Service for Mr. Scoggin will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, January 2, 2021.  Private Disposition.  Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. until service time Saturday at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel.
