osephine Coleman was born July 12, 1935, to the union of Marshall and Mollie Lee Coleman. She transitioned to her heavenly home February 20, 2018, at Plaza Manor Nursing Home.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Mollie Lee Coleman; sister, Gladys Berry; twin brothers, George Frank Coleman and Frank George Coleman and brother-in-law, Claude Marshall.
Josephine was an active and loyal member of Second Baptist Church, KCMO.
She joined the church at the tenth and Park location under the pastorate of Dr. E.E. Chappelle.
Josephine remained a member of the church until her death.
She served faithfully as a member of the Usher Board, B.T.H.&H. Club, Banquet Management Ministry, and Willing Workers Club. Josephine had a kind loving heart and an overwhelming desire to help and serve people. She loved the Lord and loved her church family dearly.
Josephine was a member of the Usher Board for over 50 years and hardly ever missed a church event, outing or an opportunity to serve.
She worked tirelessly with the Banquet Management Ministry cooking, preparing and serving meals for church events and bereaved families.
When the B.T.H.& H. Club traveled, Josephine was always on board and never missed a trip. The Club traveled to numerous places including New Orleans, Alaska, Canada, New York, Washington, and Atlanta, just to name a few. Josephine had a beautiful smile and was a sweet Christian woman and loving mother. Her faithfulness and dedication to the church will never be forgotten and she will be dearly missed.
Josephine memory will be forever
remembered and cherished by her son, Ronnie Coleman; twin sisters, Doshie Marshall and Dorothy Junior, both of KCMO, sister Dale Coleman of Bearden, Arkansas; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; special Aunt, Mary Louise Caldwell, and a host of other relatives, friends and the members of Second Baptist Church, KCMO.
Services for Ms. Coleman will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 3, 2018, at E. S. Eley & Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev.
Rev. Kevin L. Nelson, Senior Pastor, Second Baptist Church officiating.
Burial Forest Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
