Joyce A. Jones was born on November 14, 1951 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the union of Joseph Baker and Nelma Ree Watts-Baker.  She was the third of four children born to this union. She is preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Nelma Baker; brother, Willie Baker; four uncles, Ocie Watts, Claimon Watts, Sr., Eddie Watts, and Leon Baker; three aunts, Lillie Bell Thompson, Mary Watts and Willie Vell Young; paternal grandparents, Gus and Susie May Baker; and maternal grandparents, Lonnie and Odell Watts.

Joyce received her education in the Kansas City, Missouri School District.  She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1969.

Joyce worked several jobs in the medical field.

Joyce loved to cook.

Joyce entered eternity on June 16, 2023.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory: son, Alvin T. Baker of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Bobby Baker and Albert Baker; one sister, Dorothy Baker; one aunt, Zelma Berry; one uncle, Freddie J. Watts; nephew, Brandon Baker; niece, Barbara Sansberry; best friend, Lisa Goshon; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
